Brief Profile

Former Professor and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Government Medical College Hospital, Trivandrum.Honorary Consultant to the Council of Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Government of Kerala for over 20 years.

For nearly 35 years, he had been teaching and guiding the younger generation to be committed health professionals. He was assigned the role of Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kerala in 2005.

He had also served two terms as the Medical Superintendent of the
Medical College Hospital, Trivadrum, during which period he implemented
a slew of reforms that made the hospital more patient-friendly than before.

His extensive research in Diabetes led to Dr Dalus securing a PhD from the University of Kerala. He is noted for putting in place a system for assessment of Diabetes status using specific clinical and investigatory tools, to combat the disease. During his practice,Dr Dalus has been able to find solace to several thousands of patients affected by the disease.

Dr Dalus has published and presented several papers in national and international forums. He is in the International Advisory Board of the publication, The Principles and Practice of Medicine, published by Elsevier, UK. The cases published by him in the Clinical Cases in Medicine published by Elsevier, UK, has drawn the attention of medical experts worldwide. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Hutchinson’s Clinical Methods.

He is a Visiting Professor of Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
